Science projects
Nina Pinto has just been named the Young Scientist of the Year by the Science Teachers Association of NSW, as detailed here: http://www.smh.com.au/news/environment/snails-hang-on-and-she-tops-the-c....
Her ingenious experiment involved sea snail sized hooks, pulleys, and weights in order to determine whether sea water's reduction in salinity affected the snails' ability to hold on to fish tank walls. Pretty nifty! Here's wishing her successful future geekery.
