Job availability for a Project Manager with 10+ yrs experience in IT

Hi guys,

 I am currently based in Gurgaon, working as a Project manager in a reputed software MNC. I am PMP certified.

I have my Australian PR.

But before taking the big plunge of finally moving to Australia, I really want to know the kind of job opportunities available. Also, would appreciate, if someone could tell me, if it is possible to get a job from here and then shift to Australia.

Hi Partha, glad to hear the site is of use to you.

The IT industry here definitely puts more emphasis here than in the US, so your PMP certification should help. If you're in a position to also acquire ITIL, I've seen that mentioned in a few job posts.

I think it would be challenging to get a job while overseas, are you able to take extended leave (1 - 2 months) while you investigate the job market here? Or does your MNC allow for transfers?

I have already taken the test for ITIL foundation ... waiting for the result.

Is it any different if you are working for a government job or in a private company -pay-wise, work load wise, experience wise ..?
